Happy Holidays from FolioBlocks — New Videos & What’s Coming Next

Happy Holidays from FolioBlocks 🎄

As the year comes to a close, we just want to take a moment to say thank you.

Whether you’ve been using FolioBlocks in client projects, personal portfolios, or simply experimenting with better ways to showcase images in WordPress, we truly appreciate your support. It’s been great to see FolioBlocks used in so many creative and professional projects over the past year. We wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a great start to the New Year.

Before we head into January, we wanted to share a quick update on what we’ve been working on — and what’s coming next.

New FolioBlocks Video Tutorials on YouTube 🎥

Over the past weeks, we’ve started publishing step-by-step video walkthroughs on our YouTube channel, showing how to work with FolioBlocks inside the WordPress block editor and quickly create amazing photo and video galleries.

So far, we’ve released tutorials for:

Each video walks through a specific block in detail, covering the available features, layout options, and settings. The goal is to help you quickly understand how each gallery works so you can start building real, responsive layouts without writing any code. These tutorials are especially useful for photographers, designers, and anyone working visually in WordPress.

👉 We’d love it if you subscribe to our YouTube channel and follow along — more videos are on the way.

Coming in early January, we’ll be releasing tutorials for:

  • Modular Gallery Block
  • Video Gallery Block

What’s Coming in FolioBlocks 1.1.0 🚀

We’re also putting the final touches on FolioBlocks 1.1.0, which introduces several quality-of-life improvements and new styling options requested by the community.

Here’s what you can expect in the upcoming release:

Improved Border Controls

We’ve redesigned border controls for the Image Block and all gallery blocks to more closely match the look and behavior of WordPress’s native border and shadow controls.

This update includes:

  • A cleaner, more familiar UI
  • Better consistency across blocks
  • Independent border radius control for each corner

More Styling Options for Image Filtering

The Image Filtering bar is getting more flexible styling options, including:

  • Typography control
  • Font size and weight
  • Text style options

This gives you more control over contrast, accessibility, and visual consistency across galleries, while also making it easier to align these elements with your brand or theme.

Styling for Download & Add to Cart Icons

You’ll now be able to style the Download and Add to Cart icons with:

  • Custom background colors
  • Custom icon colors

This gives you more control over contrast, accessibility, and visual consistency across galleries. Also making it easier to visually match your brand or theme.

Improved WooCommerce Integration

We’re also expanding how WooCommerce integration works when linking images to products.

With version 1.1.0, you’ll be able to choose whether the Add to Cart button:

  • Adds the product directly to the cart, or
  • Links to the product page instead

This is especially useful for products with variations (such as different sizes, colors, or formats), or photo prints that offer multiple paper types like glossy or matte.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited about what’s coming next for FolioBlocks and can’t wait to share more updates with you in the new year. Expect more videos, refinements, and new ideas focused on making image-driven WordPress sites better, cleaner, and more enjoyable to build.

Thank you again for being part of the FolioBlocks community — and happy holidays from us to you 🎄✨
