We’re happy to announce the release of FolioBlocks 1.1 🎉
This update focuses on refinement: better controls, an improved editor experience, and under-the-hood improvements that make building galleries feel more predictable and flexible. If you’re using FolioBlocks in real client projects, version 1.1 is about removing friction and giving you tighter control where it matters.
Below is a summary of what’s new.
Table of Contents
More Precise Controls
Version 1.1 introduces improvements to several existing controls, with a strong focus on consistency and usability inside the WordPress block editor.
Filter Bar Styles
When gallery filtering is enabled, FolioBlocks now provides a full set of typography controls for the filter bar in the Grid Gallery, Justified Gallery, Masonry Gallery, and Video Gallery blocks.
- Font Family
- Font Size
- Appearance
- Line-Height
- Letter Spacing
- Decoration
- Letter Case
These additions make it possible to style the filter bar so it integrates cleanly with any theme or design system.

Color Styles on Add To Cart & Download Icons
You can now set custom icon and background colors for:
- The Add to Cart icon when WooCommerce integration is enabled
- The Download icon when Image Downloads are enabled
This ensures that even small interface elements can be styled to match your brand and theme colors.
Improved WooCommerce Integration
Version 1.1 includes updates to the WooCommerce integration.
When linking a gallery image to a product, you can now choose whether the Add to Cart button:
- Adds the product directly to the cart, or
- Links to the product page
This is especially useful for variable products where users need to select options such as size or color before purchasing.

Under-the-Hood Refinements
Alongside visible improvements, this release includes several internal updates and bug fixes:
- New compact custom color controls that take up less space in the settings panel
- Custom typography controls that retrieve font settings from theme.json
- A handful of bug fixes across multiple blocks
These improvements help make the plugin more robust and prepare the foundation for future features.
What’s Next?
With version 1.1 now publicly available, development is moving forward on the upcoming Filmstrip Gallery block, with a goal of releasing a beta version by late February or early March.
Beyond that, we continue to improve FolioBlocks with ongoing work on:
- New gallery layouts
- Performance optimizations
- Further refinement to shared controls
- Advanced features for professional workflows
As always, feedback from real-world usage plays a major role in shaping FolioBlocks. If you have suggestions, edge cases, or ideas, we’d love to hear from you.
Thank you for using FolioBlocks.
Update to version 1.1 today and enjoy a more polished, flexible gallery-building experience.
