About FolioBlocks
My name is Michael, I am a professional photographer and the developer behind FolioBlocks.
I created this plugin out of a simple frustration: the gallery plugins available for WordPress felt outdated, bloated, or locked in legacy workflows. Many were originally built before the introduction of the block editor (Gutenberg), and very few have truly embraced the modern vision of WordPress full-site editing and block-based themes.
As a working photographer, I needed a gallery plugin that was fast, flexible, and visually refined — something I’d actually want to use on my own portfolio website. When I couldn’t find that, I decided to build it myself.
FolioBlocks was developed from the ground up with the block editor in mind. There are no setup screens, no messing around with custom post-types, and absolutely no pasting in short-codes — just intuitive, visual editing inside the WordPress editor where each block does exactly what it’s supposed to. Every setting lives within its block, making the experience clean, focused, and creative.
This plugin is built for photographers, designers, and visual professionals who want to present their work in a polished, modern way — without jumping through hoops.
